Heat-resistant tropical sugar paste
Tropical sugar paste has a good reputation and is very popular with cake designers. It's easy to understand why when you work with the sugar paste a little, no more problems with heat, humidity and untimely cracking!
They are generally made from cornstarch, which provides many advantages, which we detail below.
You can use it as covering sugar paste, it is in fact very useful for covering cakes.
What makes tropical sugar paste different from classic sugar paste?
Tropical sugar paste is a special recipe. It was designed to outperform classic sugar paste on certain points.
It resists heat very well!
Is it summer, or do you live in a hot country? Do you have complex modeling to create? Classic sugar paste is not recommended because it will heat up and become sticky. Tropical sugar paste, on the other hand, does not stick when the temperature rises.
She doesn't crack.
Its resistance is also acclaimed by professionals, in fact the tropical paste does not crack or split, so you can cover a cake with your eyes closed. On the other hand, for fine modeling like flowers, we advise you to use flower paste, which is much more malleable.
She does not fear humidity.
Thanks to its special composition, you can expose the tropical sugar paste to a humid climate without worrying about your cake falling into shreds.
It keeps very well in the fridge.
Classic sugar paste cannot be stored in the fridge (unless your fridge is ventilated cold), the humidity from your household appliance will make your paste crumbly. The tropical sugar paste holds up perfectly in any fridge, its consistency will be unchanged.
The only downside of tropical paste: the modeling.
It is used very well for covering cakes, but less for modeling. If you still want to use it to make decorations, you need to add a little CMC/Tylo powder to harden the sugar paste a little. So you can achieve perfect, heat-resistant modeling!
Otherwise use a modeling sugar paste, with a little precaution you can keep them away from heat.
