Crepe-making supplies for Candlemas
Pancakes are probably one of the easiest pastries to make. However, they do require a minimum of utensils to be successful.
Here you'll find all the essential professional crêpe-making equipment , as well as delicious toppings . Mixing bowls, ladles, whisks, and crêpe spreaders are all you need to perfectly work and measure your batter. Equip yourself with a good pan or, ideally, a crêpe maker to create perfectly round, non-stick crêpes.
For the filling, we suggest rich and creamy spreads . Jam or Nutella work very well, but why not try hazelnut paste with chocolate? Or even pistachio paste? Topped with a few pieces of dried fruit like slivered almonds, your crepes will undoubtedly be delicious!

The equipment needed to make crepes like the pros
You probably already have most of the essential equipment to make your crepes . Here's a checklist of must-haves to ensure success:
- A crepe pan: with its low sides, it ensures you can easily and effortlessly flip your crepe. It allows you to slide your spatula directly under the cooked batter, without any obstruction. This also guarantees evenly cooked crepes.
If you have a crepe maker, it's even easier! Use a crepe measuring scoop or a ladle to spread the batter evenly, and you're done!
- A spatula : we've already mentioned this, but a long, thin spatula will help you lift the cooked side of your crepe. You can easily flip it over with a quick movement.
- A crepe spreader : also called a "rozell," this is the baking utensil used to spread your crepe batter evenly. This ensures they become smooth and round. We recommend soaking it in water before each use. Then, place it in the center of the poured batter and rotate it in a smooth, continuous motion to stretch it. It takes a little practice, but with a bit of skill, anything is possible! It's especially useful when you have a large griddle or for professional crepe makers.
What should you put in your crepes?
Whether with jam or Nutella, crêpes are always a delicious dessert. And not just during Candlemas!
But today there are many variations on classic spreads, catering to all tastes. We have hazelnut spread, pistachio spread, and coconut cream, to name a few. So many choices that give you plenty of options for topping your crepes and adding a little something extra. Try making Breton crepes with our caramel spread. Add some chopped hazelnuts to your chocolate spread. Let your imagination run wild and enjoy this delicious moment!
