Where to buy chocolate molds?
At Autourdugâteau.fr we offer chocolate molds of all sizes, shapes and in different materials for sale . We are committed to offering you professional equipment, which is why we work with the biggest brands in the chocolate sector to offer you an ever-increasing selection of chocolate molds.
The chocolate molds we offer are either polycarbonate or silicone.
Which material to choose for your chocolate mold:
Polycarbonate chocolate molds
These are the most widespread molds in the world of chocolate making . They are very resistant molds and have the advantage of being transparent, which greatly facilitates the decoration and superposition of colored chocolates.
Another advantage is that they last over time provided you take care of them. To preserve your polycarbonate chocolate molds, you must: wash them as soon as you use them, with lukewarm water and a non-rough sponge, you can also put them in the dishwasher without the temperature exceeding 70 ° C. Finally, avoid stacking them on top of each other or too close to iron elements, you do not want the molds to scratch!
Silicone Chocolate Molds
Silicone chocolate molds arrived in our shop a little later than polycarbonate molds. They also have their advantages, they allow you to unmold your chocolates more easily, they resist temperatures ranging from -55 ° to + 230 °, allowing you to place them in the oven as well as in the freezer. Another notable advantage is that they allow you to make more daring shapes, and are very dishwasher safe.
However, it can be more complicated to decorate chocolates in a silicone mold because they are not transparent.
We offer you silicone chocolate molds with extravagant shapes, thanks to brands like Silikomart.
Why use a professional chocolate mold?
Chocolatiers have been using chocolate molds for a very long time and there are many reasons for this. Between saving time and diversity of shapes, we tell you everything about why to use a chocolate mold. You will only want one thing after that: buy a chocolate mold !
They allow you to create a wide variety of shapes for chocolates , from simple shapes like squares or circles, to more complex shapes like animals or flowers. If you didn't use a mold, you would have to shape each little chocolate by hand, which is very time-consuming.
Chocolate molds make it easy to reproduce a specific shape . Perfect if you have large batches of chocolates to produce, you can maintain consistency in shape and size.
They are designed to be easy to use. They are usually made from flexible materials such as silicone or polycarbonate, making them easy to unmold and ensuring long-term strength.
Chocolate molds allow you to control the size of the chocolates produced. Each cavity of the mold has a specific size, which guarantees you regularity in the dimensions of the chocolates, you also know what quantity of chocolates are allocated for each cavity.
Chocolate molds are also practical for filling your chocolates easily, in fact you just have to leave the hardened chocolates in the molds and come and fill them with a piping bag, let set and unmold quietly!
How to unmold your chocolates?
Removing your creations from the chocolate molds is simple. You have to wait until the chocolate has cooled and hardened enough in the mold. Then on a clean and dry work surface place baking paper, take your chocolate mold, turn it over and tap/apply light pressure on the cavities of the mold. The chocolates should start to come off.
Tip depending on the type of mold used : If you are using a silicone chocolate mold , you can bend the mold slightly to help release the chocolates.
If you are using a plastic chocolate mold , you can gently press on the base of the mold or twist it slightly to help release the chocolates.
If you notice any imperfections or excess chocolate on your creations, use a file or knife to remove the excess.
