Food coloring that can be used in an airbrush

An airbrush is an essential pastry tool in cake design. It's a real time saver and opens the door to cake painting, thanks to airbrush dye.

Its operation is rather simple, it is a gun powered by a bottle of compressed air, you fill the color in the upper container also called "bucket" and with a squeeze of the trigger the airbrush dye is projected onto the cake!

Also in cakedesign fortunately we don't put real paint in the airbrush but liquid food coloring ! The operation remains the same as with traditional paint, you fill the cup with coloring and by pressing the trigger the color is projected onto the cake.

It's a bit of a hassle , so if you're a beginner, practice before spraying on a cake that took a few hours of your time.

If you want to obtain a color similar to that obtained with an airbrush, use edible paint, the process of use is simpler and you are less likely to make a mistake. If you want a more textured effect you can also use food spray.

Finally you will find an airbrush cleaner, essential if you want to keep your tool clean. In fact, dried food coloring can be difficult to remove if left to dry.
