What is the difference between an insert mold and a classic mold?
An insert mold is like any cake mold, except that it allows you to insert a taste or color into the cake or dessert. It is a mold widely used for making Christmas logs .
The insert mold is broken down into two parts: the mold, made of stainless steel, silicone or stainless steel, it will give the general shape to your cake. It comes with what is called an 'insert', made of plastic or other materials. It must be filled with dough or other preparation and placed in the center of the cake. It is this utensil which will give the interior shape of your cake.
How to use an insert mold?
There are several types and shapes of insert molds but they all generally have the same use.
It's necessary :
- Pour dough into the mold until half full.
- Place the insert previously filled with your insert preparation.
- Cover with the remaining dough up to the edge of the mold.
- All you have to do is place your cake in the oven or freezer.
