Crisco vegetable shortening 453g

Crisco vegetable shortening 453g is a neutral cooking fat that is very often used in baking and cooking. It is a healthier alternative to butter, allowing you to make lighter desserts.

Tasteless and colourless, it blends seamlessly into a wide variety of recipes without altering their flavour: cookies, tarts, cupcakes. Crisco all-vegetable is widely used in cake decorating, particularly:

  • to grease the cookie cutters,
  • to make the sugar paste more pliable during kneading,
  • to soften drier cake batters and make them easier to spread,
  • to mix with candy melts

This airtight container of Crisco keeps well for 1 year after opening, at room temperature. As a precaution, it should not be exposed to heat (except for cooking with supervision).

It is a certified kosher baking ingredient, gluten-free and also suitable for vegetarians.

Description Crisco vegetable shortening 453g

Instructions for use:

  • Take a small amount of Crisco vegetable shortening. Rub it between your fingers. Then, knead it into your sugar paste to soften it. This also prevents it from cracking.
  • Apply a small amount to your cookie cutters to facilitate cutting and prevent the dough from sticking.
  • Partially or completely replace the butter with Crisco for a lighter, fluffier texture.
  • Store at room temperature in a dry place and close the jar tightly after use.

Replace approximately 200g of butter with one scoop of Crisco vegetable shortening.

This product is not intended for use as a spread.

We recommend using it within one year of opening. Do not refrigerate for ease of use.

CAUTION: This product can ignite if overheated. This can cause serious injury or burns. Heat Crisco carefully, uncovered, over medium heat. Reduce heat if smoke begins to form.

Never leave unattended. Do not refill the container with hot Crisco.

If this vegetable fat catches fire:

  • Turn off the heat (on the gas stove)
  • Cover your pot or pan until it cools to room temperature to prevent the fire from reigniting
  • Do not move the pot until it has cooled
  • DO NOT ADD WATER
